2. Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Bhutan

Arrival > Paro > Thimphu > Overnight Thimphu

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, meet and greet by our representative followed by transfer to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Enjoy the scenic drive through mountain landscapes, traditional settlements, and river valleys.

Visit:

  • National Takin Preserve – home to Bhutan’s national animal, the unique Takin.

  • Tashichho Dzong – an important monastery and administrative center of Bhutan.

Explore Thimphu town during the evening and return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Thimphu.


Day 2: Himalayan Heritage Journey

Buddha Point > Memorial Chorten > Dochula Pass > Punakha Dzong > Overnight Punakha

After breakfast, begin the journey toward Punakha while exploring some of Bhutan’s significant cultural and spiritual landmarks.

Visit:

  • Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) – a massive Buddha statue overlooking the scenic Thimphu Valley.

  • Memorial Chorten – an important spiritual monument where locals gather for prayers and rituals.

  • Dochula Pass – a beautiful mountain pass known for its 108 memorial stupas and Himalayan views.

  • Punakha Dzong – one of Bhutan’s most magnificent fortresses located at the meeting point of two rivers.

Return to hotel for overnight stay in Punakha.

Day 3: Cultural Bhutan Discovery

Tamchok Lhakhang > National Museum > Rinpung Dzong > Drukgyel Dzong > Overnight Paro

After breakfast, proceed toward Paro through scenic valleys and mountain landscapes while exploring Bhutan’s rich heritage and architecture.

Visit:

  • Tamchok Lhakhang – a historic temple associated with Bhutan’s renowned iron bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo.

  • National Museum of Bhutan – showcasing Bhutanese history, culture, art, and traditional heritage.

  • Rinpung Dzong – a historic fortress known for its remarkable architecture and cultural significance.

  • Drukgyel Dzong – a historic fortress built to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over Tibetan invasions.

Return to hotel for overnight stay in Paro.

Day 4: Sacred Bhutan Experience


Tiger’s Nest Monastery > Kichu Monastery > Overnight Paro

After breakfast, proceed for one of Bhutan’s most iconic experiences.

Visit:

  • Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang) – Bhutan’s most sacred monastery dramatically perched on a cliffside overlooking Paro Valley.

  • Kichu Monastery – among Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred monasteries dating back to the 7th century.

Return to hotel for overnight stay in Paro.

Day 5: Bhutan Farewell

Departure

Breakfast at hotel and transfer to airport for onward journey with unforgettable memories from the peaceful Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan.
